Memorial Fund Created in Honor of Renee Card Monroe
UPDATED: 4:24 PM EDT
A memorial fund to benefit Christian ministries has been created in the name of the grandmother who died Monday, along with her two grandchildren following an ATV accident in Catoosa County.

The family announced Tuesday in the obituary for Renee Card Monroe that those who wish are asked to make contributions to the Renee Monroe Memorial Fund at The Generosity Trust for the benefit of Christian Ministries and Causes in the Chattanooga area, 736 Market Street, Suite 1042, Chattanooga, TN 37402.

Monroe, 60, died Monday when the ATV she was driving ran into a pond on her family's property. Her two grandchildren, Reagan and Jaxson Cohen, also died in the accident.

According to her obituary, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Monroe was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church where she helped lead a small Bible study group.

Her obituary reads, "Renee was first and foremost a wife, Momma and Nana. Her loving touch knew no bounds, reaching out to those in need as she had been a generous supporter of many local ministries. She brightened the lives and filled the hearts of all who knew her. She was a creative, joyful servant of Jesus. She was a heavenly treasure and a Proverbs 31 woman. No one who knew her ever doubted how much she loved them and she left this world a far better and richer place than she found it. Her friends and family hold tight to the hope we have in our Savior Jesus Christ that she is rejoicing in heaven and someday we will be rejoicing with her.

"Renee is survived by her husband of 42 years, Charlie Monroe; her daughters, Tiffany (Keith) Askew, Apison and Rachel (Brian) Cohen, Jericho, New York; her sons, Zach (Emily) Monroe and Lucas (Kelly) Monroe, both of Chattanooga; her parents, Roy and Virginia Card, Chattanooga; two brothers, Brian (Terry) Card, Elder Mountain and Brad (Paula) Card, Hixson; eight grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews.

"The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.

"A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, April 24 at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Bill Spencer officiating. A private family burial will be held."

The arrangements are being handled by Heritage Funeral Home
