THP Releases Bonnaroo-related Enforcement Actions
UPDATED: 1:15 PM EDT
The Tennessee Highway Patrols Chattanooga District announced preliminary statistics Tuesday from the 2013 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Coffee County.

State troopers worked more than 5,900 hours over a six-day period. THP personnel investigated 17 crashes, including one fatal, three injury and 13 property damage wrecks. In 2012, troopers worked 29 wrecks with zero fatalities.

In addition, 22 speeding citations were issued by the THP, nine people were cited for driving under the influence, and three were nabbed for violation of the open container law.  Troopers also issued nine seat belt violation citations and cited nine revoked or suspended driver license offenders.

This is one of the busiest times of the year for our agency. We managed the influx of traffic on Interstate 24 and the surrounding roadways, and ensured motorists were obeying the law. State troopers worked around the clock to provide tourists and citizens of Tennessee with a safe and secure event, THP Colonel Tracy Trott said.

THP personnel also responded to 555 motorist assist calls throughout the six-day event.
