Property taxes in Hamilton County will be going up by 26 cents next year, also going up today are billboards criticizing the Hamilton County Mayor and the five Hamilton County Commissioners who voted for the tax increase: That advertisement now has a soundtrack (listen below). The billboards mocks County Mayor Claude Ramsey, calling him "Santa Claude" and featuring a picture of him in a red Santa Clause hat. Each one of the commissioners who voted yes for the tax increase are mocked on the billboards as well, which went up in each of their districts.
Adding even more fuel to the fire, there's also a song.
"Here comes Santa Claude, Here comes Santa Claude, raising your taxes again," the song begins.
Tim Price is the man behind the highly controversial, anti-tax song that surfaced yesterday on the radio and is now creating a buzz all over the county. Price is the leader of the group, "had Enough Taxes?" the people behind the Back Room Boys billboards. The group accuses the men of engaging in closed-door deals... And accepting gifts from the county mayor in exchange for their vote. Something they all either adamantly denied or refused to comment about.
The mayor had a terse response for the song and the billboard.
"It's silly and I could care less," Mayor Ramsey said yesterday.
The billboard includes a disclaimer from the company Fairway Advertising, that they are not responsible for the content.
