Cancer Cluster Investigation Day 10
Comments 0 | Recommend 0NewsChannel 9's learned of another case of Glioblastoma connected to the Dalton, Georgia area. A woman says her 35 year old sister passed away from the rare brain cancer last year. The woman says her sister was living in Chatsworth, Georgia and attended Dalton State College at the time she was diagnosed.
NewsChannel 9 has spoken to six other people who say either they or a family member had ties to Dalton State College and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. Administrators at the college say they had a study conducted of a particular building in 2005. They say the study showed there's nothing in the building that raises any suspicions.
We've also spoken to at least four other people who say they or a loved one was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, and not connected to Dalton State College. They did, however, have ties to the Dalton area.
NewsChannel 9 also learned late Monday afternoon that a study about the cancer cases from Georgia's Division of Public Health may not be released until later this month. A spokesperson told us two weeks ago they expected to release the report this week.
