Attempted Murder Suspect Captured
Chattanooga Police Department Fugitive Investigators have arrested attempted murder suspect Josh McCoin. Investigators got a tip that McCoin was hiding out at his uncle’s residence on Farmer Rd. in Ooltewah. They went there and took McCoin into custody without incident. McCoin was wanted for Attempted first Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Probation Violation, Theft and Burglary of an Auto. He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail. Meanwhile authorities are still searching for Edward G. Goforth. They say Goforth led police on a chase through several counties. They first tried to pull him over near Calhoun, Tennessee.
But, he took off and led them down Highway 11 to Bradley County, then north on I-75. They stopped his stolen 18-wheeler on I-75 in Loudon County. He took off into the woods, and hasn't been seen since. A woman was also in the 18-wheeler. She claims to be an ex-girlfriend and said Goforth had been holding her hostage.
