Kim Fields
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Kim Fields co-anchors the 5:00 news with Calvin Sneed, and the 5:30 news with Kim Chapman.
Kim began her broadcast career in 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah at KSL-TV as an intern. She says she took the position to learn more about the TV News business.
"It didn't take long to realize I was hooked on TV news," she said.
After graduating from the University of Utah, KSL hired her as an associate producer. She worked for almost two years behind the camera, but was eager to get in front of the lens. The opportunity came when she was asked to fill-in as a reporter for KSL's morning show. In 2002, she was hired in Wilmington, North Carolina to work as an anchor for WECT's morning and noon shows. Three years later she came to Chattanooga and NewsChannel 9.
Kim says, "I am so excited to be back in Tennessee! I spent part of my childhood in Winchester and most of my extended family lives in the Chattanooga and Pikeville area. My mom, dad and brother live in Idaho, but they promise to visit a lot! My husband and I don't have any children yet, but we do have a dog (Maltese) named Butch. He's enough right now!"
Kim says she loves exploring all the Chattanooga-area has to offer. She loves to spend time outdoors, from biking to camping. She admits however, "I can be a couch potato! When I'm home, I like being lazy in front of the TV."
Of course always watching NewsChannel 9.
