Sarah Jennings

December 21, 2006 - 1:11 PM

Sarah is originally from Cleveland, Tennessee. She graduated with honors from Bradley Central High School in 1995 and then made her way to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. That's where she majored in Television and Radio Broadcasting and minored in Political Science. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from UTK in 1999, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

From "Big Orange" country she made it back home to Chattanooga. And, that's where she got her first job out of college at a local radio station. Sarah worked hard as a spot News Reporter and Afternoon Drive News Anchor.

Sarah also worked at another group of powerhouse radio stations in Knoxville. There she also anchored and reported the afternoon news, and eventually made her way back to the place she loves most... Chattanooga.

Sarah began traffic reporting and general assignment news reporting for NewsChannel 9 in April of 2003. In 2004 she added anchoring "Good Morning Chattanooga" to her list. Since then Sarah has also assumed the role of Producer, and now anchors and produces NewsChannel9 Midday each weekday.

"I guess you could definitely call me a morning person. I love waking up each day with a sense of purpose, service and humility. I thank all of you who spend your mornings and middays with us and feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family of people here at NewsChannel 9. Thank you for inviting me into your homes each day and making me feel like a part of your families," said Sarah.

"I realize and cherish the importance of family. I treasure my wonderful husband, Richie, my son, Jacob, and my two amazing step-children, Camden and Kelsey. I love spending time with all of them, as well as our cat, Kitty-Kitty and a Beagle mix, Daisy.

When the kids aren't around, Richie and I love to go to concerts, go to UT football games with our friends and listen to a wide array of music (I'm quite an Elvis fan, but we also enjoy 80's music and 'old school' country).

So, now that you know a little about me -- please feel free to take a moment and send me an email comment or suggestion. I would love to hear from you!
