Parks Administrator Larry Zehnder Wins Highest Award
Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Administrator Larry Zehnder was recently awarded the Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) 2008 Fellow Award at the annual state conference in Memphis. The Fellow Award is the TRPA's highest professional honor. Each year TRPA recognizes the outstanding contributions of one individual with the distinguished Fellow Award.
The TRPA Fellow Award chronicles Mr. Zehnder's 35 years of service in the areas of advocacy and leadership, advancement of new policies, ideas, methods of practice, and professional training on local, state, regional, and national levels.
"We are very proud of Larry's outstanding accomplishment and his commitment to excellence," said Mayor Ron Littlefield. "This award confirms the contribution of the parks and recreation department to our city's quality of life."
The City's Parks and Recreation Department also won the prestigious TRPA "4 Star Award" for Warner Park in the Best Renovated Facility Category and an Honorable Mention in the "4 Star Award" Marketing Category for the state's Best Parks and Recreation Department Marketing Campaign.
