Cigarette Robbing Couple On Run

Athens, Tenn. police investigators are looking for a couple that stole two cartons of cigarettes and injured a clerk in the robbery.

It happened early Saturday morning at the Rocky Top on Decatur Pike. The woman asked for two cartons of Newport Lights. Clerk Suzanne Mullis retrieved them from a storage room and sat them on the counter.

The male suspect then quickly snatched them off the counter and bolted out the door. Mullis went after him.

Investigators say he wouldn't give the smokes, priced at $57 a carton. He quickly slammed the car door and knocked the clerk down in the parking lot by backing up into her.
