A woman is dead and the driver is facing charges after an accident last night along Interstate 75.

Dispatchers with the Tennesee Highway Patrol tell NewsChannel9 that 54-year-old Vickie King of Athens was riding along with a friend near the Riceville exit in McMinn County when they lost control of their car in the rain.

The vehicle hit a tree, killing King.

In the meantime, charges are pending against the driver, 46-year-old Beth Moller of Sweetwater. Troopers say drugs appear to be a factor in the accident.
