Monday afternoon announced new jobs following the acquisition of Aerisyn by a German-based compnay.

New Jobs Following Aerisyn Acquisition

More than 100 jobs are coming to the Tennessee Valley. Monday, German based SIAG announced they are expanding Aerisyn, a wind tower manufracturer. The company s one of only about a dozen in America where wind turbines are actually built. The Aerisyn facility came to Chattanooga back in 2005. Now, the business is growing, and benefitting the Tennessee Valley with more jobs.

The sparks fly inside the turbine wind towers at Aerisyn, as the company learns they'll soon be making many more, and be hiring many more employees. President of Schaaf Industries Rudiger Schaaf says, "Yes we can, we will be successful here, move this site forward and in the next year produce 150 steel towers."

SIAG Industries announced that they are not only taking over operations at the Aerisyn facility, but increasing productivity. Schaaf says, "We will make this site in Chattanooga one of the highest production sites in America, and we will combine this quality with a high productivity."

A productivity that has seen Aerisyn's success here in Chattanooga over the past 4 years. It's one of only a few manufacturers in the east making wind towers for energy, that will now be run by a similiar international business from Germany.

Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Matt Kisber says, "It also signifies how global our economy has become and the chance for more jobs."

The jobs total more than one hundred in 2 years, and the hiring will begin immediately. SIAG says it's nice to come to a place already welcoming another german employer. President of SIAG-Aerisyn Bernd Becker says, "I think it's quite an advantage that we are not alone and we can rely on the chamber, on chatt state and the university here for good engineering jobs."

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield says, "Once again our connection with Germany has come to the forefront and the distance between Chattanooga and Germany is growing shorter."

The building itself it not expanding, but the production will increase.

SIAG says if you are interested in applying for a position, just look for ads in the newspaper, or call the local Chamber of Commerce.
