Don't be Fooled by Travel Agency Scam

There's another type of crime that's caught the eye of Chattanooga Police.

And today they've got a warning for you - beware of people offering vacations at major discounts.

Police say someone's tipped them off about a possible travel agency scam.

A department spokesperson says a group that goes by several names held a series of seminars at a downtown hotel this August, and has since spent time in the Chattanooga area promising deals it has not delivered. She says there's an open investigation into the company that is based out of Florida.

The name of the company is United Vacation Travel. Other aliases include Suncoast Vacations, Suncoast LLC, Travel Services USA, United Vacation Network, Capital Finance, CER Suncoast Vacations, & Royal Palm Vacation.

Chattanooga Police encourage anyone in the area who is a victim of this scam to notify the Florida Attorney General's fraud hotline at
1-866-966-7226.
