Authorities busted what's being called the largest puppy mill in Tennessee History.
According to the Humane Society, authorites took nearly 700 dogs from a farm in Lyles where they found animals stuffed in small cages, sitting in filth and sometimes sharing their limited living space with puppies that had died.
Food was almost non-existent.
Only two people were caring for all the dogs. The lead rescuer said the 160 volunteers they have is not enough to care for the puppies.
They plan to work with shelter partners throughout the U-S to get the animals to a loving home.
If you would like to donate to the Hickman County Humane Society, or help find loving homes for the rescued animals, call 1-866-304-3352.
