Authorities Find Bodies of Missing Boaters
Authorities confirm to NewsChannel9 that the bodies of the remaining missing boaters from an accident in Marion County have been found.
Five people were thrown overboard near the Nickajack Dam last Saturday night while they were out fishing. Two men were able to make it to shore, but three others went missing in the cold, rushing waters near the Dam.
One of the three fisherman was discovered Friday. Marion County Medical Examiner Brenda Sowter confirmed that body was of 49-year-old Angel Ocampo. He was identified by his family.
The other two bodies were found in different locations. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says one body had drifted down the river, and was found near Scottsboro, Alabama. The other body was found up against the Nickajack Dam earlier this afternoon.
