Businessman Busted After Bikini Party
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A businessman who's family built a well-known North Georgia business, is arrested and charged with eight counts of sexual battery.
Six women say 49-year-old Randy Pike, from Alpharetta, Ga., violated them during a private pool party that's thrown every year just before the Miss Resaca Beach contest.
Since 1983 Dan Bowen's Miss Resaca Beach contest draws women from around the country to compete in bikinis and cocktail dresses. It's a Whitfield County based annual contest that produces a calendar of women and boasts of a famous first time winner, Marla Maples, who was 19-years-old before marrying Donald Trump.
Part of the festivities include a private pool party at a house on Dug Gap Road the afternoon before the contest.
This last Saturday Randy Pike was invited to be a judge for Miss Resaca Beach and be at the pool party. Pike was the CEO of Pike Nurseries, a family-based lawn and garden business with hundreds of employees that started in 1958 and grew to 15 locations around the metro Atlanta.
The business was sold to a group of investors back in 2004.
Women who were at Saturday's party said Pike flew in on a helicopter, landed next to the residence and once he got off started bragging about how rich he is and had pull with the Miss Resaca beach contest.
Several bikini-clad models said Pike made rude, insulting comments toward them, then grabbed their behinds and private parts. Two of the six alleged victims tell us Pike grabbed their bikini bottoms and pulled them down.
Whitfield County Sheriff's department investigators said Pike told one model "you can suck up or kiss my (expletive deleted) because I'm one of the judges."
Another woman claims Pike told her to perform a sex act on him if she wanted to win.
Records show Pike had a room at the LaQuinta Inn and while there and got into the passenger side of a model's SUV, fondled her thigh, and said "I'm not taking your (expletive deleted) bags, but you can stay in my room and get ready."
Pike was later arrested in his hotel room and charged with eight counts of sexual battery.
Dan Bowen immediately dismissed Pike as a judge.
Bowen tells us "since 1983 we've never had any kind of problem like this. It's an embarrassment to the contest, it was not expected and unfortunate. I hope this never happens again."
Randy Pike is free on a $20,000 bond while his case goes to a Whitfield County grand jury.
We tried to speak with Pike to get his side of the story but he's not answering his phone.
