Paramedics have been on the scene of a school bus crash in the 3100 block of Ooltewah - Ringgold Rd. in Hamilton County Tuesday afternoon, although no serious injuries have been reported.
Hamilton County Schools spokesperson Danielle Clark said, "A truck passed one of our buses on the road, going in the opposite direction, and snapped the mirror back. About 50 students are on the bus."
NewsChannel 9 Chief Photographer Brent McDonald reports from the scene that glass sprayed into the bus and some of the youngsters were complaining of glass in their eyes. An officer said that two students went to the hospital to be checked out - non-emergency. Parents are on the scene to take the kids home as well as another bus.
Meanwhile The Herald News newspaper in Rhea County is reporting that a school bus carrying about 40 students from Sale Creek middle and high schools crashed in Dayton at about 2:30 p.m. today.
No injuries were initially reported.
The bus was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 27 when it collided with a car near the Wal-Mart in Dayton.
Officials are still investigating the crash.
