A 19-month-old boy is back home with his parents after police say he was kidnapped and ejected from a flipping car.

Nery Macario Diaz has only two scrapes on him.

Police say Wednesday night Andres Hernandez Cabrera ran his Toyota Celica into this Honda and flipped over the top of it. 19-month-old Nery was not in a car seat and flew out.

Investigators say Cabrera kidnapped the baby boy from this Brainerd house where Cabrera also lived.

The baby's father says he was watching TV in the next room when his daughter alerted him that Cabrera had taken the baby.

The father believes God sent angels to protect his only son. Jorge Macario Deleon choked back tears when he thought about what his only son has been through in the last two days.

"Well, I feel happy, I feel happy. I love my son, he's the only one I have."

In addition to the aggravated kidnapping, reckless endangerment and reckless driving charges, we also learned Cabrera is an illegal immigrant.

Police say after the criminal process he may face deportation procedures.
