Update: Location Change, Rallying to Support Cheerleaders' Religious Signs

A community is rallying around a group of high school cheerleaders after they were banned from showing biblical verses at football games.

Today organizers changed the rally location due to the anticipated large turnout. The rally will be held at the Ft. Oglethorpe Polo Fields on Barnhardt Circle

One sign displayed at a recent football game read, "Commit to the Lord, whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Another read, "For God did not give us the spirit of timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline."

Someone filed a complaint about the religious signs to the school superintendent saying that the display of a Bible verse on the football field is a violation of federal law -- and the school agreed.

A special Facebook site has been created in support of the Lakeview-FortOglethorpe cheerleaders. For more information you can visit www.LFOCheer.com.
