T.C. Thompson Announces Partnership with Kohl's

Kohl's Care for Kids showed their support for T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital at Erlanger on October 29, 2009 with the presentation of a $43,664 donation.

The presentation, held at the Kohl's Department Store on Gunbarrel Road, signified a continued partnership with Children's Hospital and announced the T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital/Kohl's for Kids Oral Health Initiative. The gift will support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, which provides dental health education and treatment to uninsured children who have no other access to dental care.

"On behalf of T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital Foundation, we want to thank Kohl's department stores for all they've done to support T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital at Erlanger," said Betsy Taylor, chief development officer. "Kohl's has been instrumental in advancing several key projects to improve children's health. This most recent gift will enable the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to reach further into the school system to serve the children of this region with dental care and other preventive services.”

According to Cathy Jennings, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile coordinator, the donation will allow for an advertising campaign teaching children about the importance or oral health. Since 2006, Kohl's has donated more than $127,994 to T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. Kohl's has also supported Children's Hospital's Safe & Sound, childhood injury prevention program.

"Kohl's offers children's books and stuffed toys, for only five dollars each. The items that we don't sale are then donated to local charities like Children's Hospital," said Chip Greene, Kohl's store manager. "One hundred percent of the income from these products goes to children's charities."
