Cleveland Creates New Job Due to Volkswagen
Comments 0 | Recommend 0During Monday's Cleveland City Council meeting, the Council created the new position of Public Works Director of Capital Projects. In a news release the city said the position was established "to better prepare the City of Cleveland for anticipated growth of the Volkswagen plant and other major capital improvement projects previously funded by the City Council."
Tom Grant has been assigned to the job.
Grant has been with the City of Cleveland since 1979 and he was appointed Public Works Director in 2004.
City Manager Janice Casteel announced the promotion of Tommy Myers to Public Works Director. Myers will manage all personnel and the day-to-day operation of the department. He has served as the Deputy Director of Public Works, working under Tom Grant since 2006 and has been with the Public Works Department for 24 years.
