More Trouble For Former Cleveland Police Officer
Comments 0 | Recommend 0More trouble is mounting for a former Cleveland police officer, already indicted on felony charges. A deputy with the Bradley County Sheriff's Department arrested Dennis Hughes for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The arrest report shows the 33 year old former Cleveland officer had a 16 year old runaway girl in his truck. The report also indicates several empty beers and prescription medicine was found inside Hughes truck.
After the girl was reported missing, a deputy found Hughes and his truck at Cleveland officer Nathan Thomas' home. Thomas is also in trouble with four felony prescription drug crimes pending. He remains suspended without pay.
We developed information that the girl's mother had contacted Cleveland police to have then officer Hughes stay away from her daughter.
We asked Chief Wes Snyder about that. He said, "I'm not aware of it, but that's not to say that there's not some report that was filed. His supervisor may have known."
