The Drug Interdiction Team of the Bradley County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on I-75 Wednesday night and say they found 8.3 oz. of cocaine inside the vehicle's center console.

The 2008 Hyundai was exceeding the 70 mile-per-hour speed limit when Drug Enforcement Unit deputies conducted their stop near the 27-mile marker.

Terry D. Tyra, 19, and Alexander M. Whitaker, 20, both of Lexington Ky, were taken into custody. At the Bradley County jail they were charged with possession of schedule II drugs for resale and Tyra has an additional charge of speeding.

DEU officers reported street sales of the seized cocaine could bring as much as $10,000.

Tyra posted bail of $50,000 and was released. Whitaker remains in custody with bond of an equal amount. Their next scheduled court date is November 25th in General Sessions Court at the Judicial Complex.
