New Name for Chattanooga State

Legislation to rename five Tennessee community colleges has been signed into law by the governor.
Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen signed the measure late last week and it takes effect immediately.
Under the law, Chattanooga State Technical Community College will be Chattanooga State Community College.
In addition, Pellissippi State Technical Community College becomes Pellissippi State Community College, Northeast State Technical Community College becomes Northeast State Community College, Nashville State Technical Community College becomes Nashville State Community College and Community College in Southwest Tennessee will be Southwest Tennessee Community College.
