Corker: Kagan To Use Court For Activism

NASHVILLE (AP) - Republican U.S. Sen. Bob Corker says he will vote against Elana Kagan's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Tennessee senator said in a news release Friday that her actions and her record suggest she believes it is appropriate to use the court "to achieve a political end."

Corker said he met with President Barack Obama's nominee in his office in June and found her to be highly intelligent.

But he said he doesn't believe the court is the appropriate vehicle for activism.

Corker is a joke I said it from the beginning.
Corker vote wont count anyway they'll do the correct thing and go around it.

Mr. Corker is right. The courts are no place for political activism. Judges need to uphold the Constitution, not re-write it.

She would have to first be introduced to The Constitution. As of most of FRAUDbama's "hires" they've never been introduced. January 20, 2013 is checkout time.

You think only Republican's are millionaires? What about the Clinton's spending 3 MILLION DOLLARS on Chelcie's wedding? What about Al Gore's multiple houses and private planes? Good luck finding a Joe 6-pack that can win an election. They are ALL millionaires............

Wasn't it just 18 short months ago that HELLary was pleading for donations to help pay off her campaign debt? Now, (just 18 short months later) they have $2,000,000 of disposable income? With 17% unemployment, record foreclosures and people struggling to feed their families these self-centered, arrogant folks have 2 LARGE to "throw away." What an example to set you mental midgets.

rgoldgal, in theory our beliefs are very similar (your reply to EZ on 01 August 10). I was also/always taught to work for any/every thing I got, too...life is simply not a free lunch.

What I ask you is, how do you tell a person who has lost her/his job (through no fault of their own) that unemployment benefits are akin to socialism. A few dollars a month in food stamps to feed a family who has fallen on hard times is bad?

The present recession we are experiencing has a somewhat different twist than many from the past...this one is global. Plus our country has been involved in lengthy conflicts in the middle East, which only adds insult to injury. I am not going to poke holes at any one political party because it will serve no useful purpose.

All I know is when times were tough for me, I always gave a little extra to others and still do. A true Christian walks the walk, talks the talk and believes in GOD.
