Union Protests Hamilton County Schools

   Three carpenters protested in front of Hamilton County Schools.

   The Mid south Carpenters Regional Council pulled Superintendent Jim Scales name into its labor dispute with The Wakefield Corporation. That company is doing drywall and ceiling work at East Hamilton County High school.

We contacted Wakefield's president Jim Wakefield. He says Mid-South is upset because his company did not sign a union contract. Wakefield says his workers met three times with Mid-South but declined to join.
