Sewanee Utility Manager Busted by TBI
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today arrested a former office manager of the Sewanee Utility District for theft and other numerous charges after she was indicted by the Franklin County Grand Jury.
Theresa Patton, 39, of 485 Questern Drive, Sewanee, TN was indicted on one count of Theft of Property in excess of $60,000, two counts of Forgery, two counts of Passing a Forged Instrument, three counts of Official Misconduct and three counts of Destruction or Tampering with Government Records. The TBI found that Patton charged personal purchases to a credit card issued in the name of the Sewanee Utility District and issued district checks to pay her personal expenses. The missing funds were discovered in October of 2008 by a manager of the district. At that time, Patton was terminated.
Patton was booked into the Franklin County Jail early this afternoon.
The Sewannee Utility District serves Franklin and Marion Counties.
