Child Struck in East Ridge

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

An 8-year-old boy was struck on an East Ridge street this afternoon and taken to TC Thompson Children's Hospital.

East Ridge Police Spokesperson Eric Hopkins says the accident happened near the 1600 Block of Tombras Road earlier this afternoon.

Hopkins says a woman was traveling south in a Lexus SUV when the child ran out into the road, and she hit him.

Hopkins says he's not sure of the boy's condition at this time.

Officers are still investigating, however, charges are not expected to be filed against the driver.
