Execution Scheduled For Georgia Murderer
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia officials have set May 6th as the execution date for William Earl Lynd, who was convicted of killing his girlfriend in 1988.
It would be the state's first execution in nearly a year. Executions were placed on hold in Georgia, and elsewhere in the country, as the U.S. Supreme Court weighed whether lethal injection violated the Constitution. The high court ruled last week it does not.
Lynd's execution could be the first of several to take place in Georgia.
Lynd was sentenced to death for the December 23, 1988, slaying of Ginger Moore in Berrien County. Authorities say he shot her three times after the couple argued.
Corrections officials say the execution has been scheduled for 7 p.m.
