Little Girl Speaks While Recovering From Brutal Pit-Bull Attack

A little girl speaks for the first time since being brutally attacked while trying to break up a fight between her dog and a pit-bull.

The eight-year-old went from clinging to life to playing at home, but she's still struggling physically. Her mom tell us the bone in her left shoulder will not stay in it's socket and her growth bone is broken which means her arm might not grow anymore. But even with all of that, she continues to have faith.

"You pick any color you want and put it in here," Faith Guelde says while placing green moon sand into a pony-shaped container.

Walk into Faith's house today and you'll find her playing several colors of moon sand.

"It feels creepy," the eight-year-old says about the sand.

She's also showing off her crown and her Cinderella bed.

"This is a castle and this is a dress with a crown and slippers," Faith says while showing us her bed cover.

But this princess woke up in a nightmare on June 15th. That's when a pit-bull attacked her in her neighbor's yard and LifeForce had to airlift her to the hospital.

"I thought it would be a lot easier when she got home but actually it's kind of harder," Heather Keehn, Faith's mother, says.

Keehn says the eight-year-old has been having bad dreams ever since the attack. On Tuesday, a small cast wraps around her left arm and the entire right side of her upper body is heavily bandaged, but when we met up with her she greeted us with a sparkling smile and then showed us two of her favorite playmates.

"That one that's barking really loud is Bear right there that's barking," she says while pointing at a small dog that is barking non-stop. "And the brown one is Hot-dog."

Faith has had seven surgeries at T.C. Thompson including one on Monday, but she's managed to keep a smile on her face throughout the entire ordeal.

"Summer is supposed to be fun and this isn't fun and I shouldn't have two broken arms and I should have two good arms," Faith says with a smile.

"She's a fighter, it's day by day every time we go it's something different," Keehn says.

But one thing that remains constant is how Faith continues to help this family pull through an unbelievable situation.

Both Faith and her family want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and they tell us they're holding a benefit for Faith this upcoming Saturday at the West Brow Community Center on Lookout Mountain at 6PM. Faith says she plans to sing a song that she wrote with her grandfather at this weekend's benefit.
