Fireworks Fans Say Forget The Recession

A continuous stream of traffic flowed into three Interstate fireworks stores in south Bradley County. People from all over were pulling off the freeway to get the latest explosive excitement. Parking lots at three different fireworks stores at Exit 20 were jam packed.
Inside, crowds bustled to get the latest bottle rockets, roman candles and multi shot powder wonders.
Arnold Pierce lives in Chattanooga. He brought his son and daughter for the trip. They loaded up $700 worth of fireworks in two shopping carts. Pierce says he's been doing this the last five years and actually spent more this year.
Pierce said, "It's the Fourth, we'll have a good time doing it. We'll have a good time doing it." Pierce told us he spent the most on an 86 shot chain reaction finale. He plans to set these off tonight at a neighborhood pool party.
The interstate stores say the chain reaction explosives have been the hottest sellers.
