NEW YORK (AP) -- The actress who played the secretary to Frank Underwood in "House of Cards" has died. Elizabeth Norment was 61 -- and Netflix has confirmed that she passed away. The online video streaming service didn't provide details like when and how she died. But the show's co-creator Beau Willimon describes her as "a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all." Norment was the aide to the ethically challenged, politically driven character played by Kevin Spacey in the hit series. She appeared as a guest star in a number of other TV shows, including "ER," "Doogie Howser, MD," "Party of Five" and "Law & Order." Her movie credits include work in "The Woman in Red" and "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion."

NEW YORK (AP) -- Like many of the show's viewers, Monica Potter says she isn't ready to give up "Parenthood." She says she has been lobbying the show's creator to find another outlet for the NBC series, now in its final season. Even though she has suggested the show find a home on Netflix or Hulu, Potter says she realizes that's unlikely. Some cast members cut their salaries to help the show meet its budget for this season and even a move to an online site would mean the cast gets paid. Potter says she loves working with the cast because they're like family. As she says she'd prefer that the show end while people still enjoy it -- instead of having the audience wonder why the show lingered on too long.
Actress Monica Potter says she's suggested possible outlets for "Parenthood," but thinks the NBC show is reaching the end of the line.
