RANDY QUAID, WIFE ORDERED HELD
ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) -- Randy Quaid and his wife remain in custody in Vermont -- where they were locked up on charges that they skipped out of the U.S. five years ago after being charged with vandalism in California. The Quaids were taken into custody at the Canadian border while trying to get back into the U.S. from its northern neighbor. They were told last week by Canadian officials that they would be deported. They are wanted in Santa Barbara, California to face felony charges filed in 2010. The actor's attorney failed in an effort to get the bail lowered.
CAREY MULLIGAN - "SUFFRAGETTE"
NEW YORK (AP) -- Carey Mulligan says it's hard to believe the story of women winning the right to vote isn't one that's been told in the movies before. She says she and the cast of "Suffragette" were "very excited" about the movie because it's a part of human rights history "that no one has ever made a film about." Mulligan says it was "a massive deal" to be involved because women's issues raised by the movie still resonate today. She notes that in Saudi Arabia, women are just this year being allowed to register to vote.

CAREY MULLIGAN - MOM
NEW YORK (AP) -- Carey Mulligan says if you want to know what it's like to raise a daughter -- come back and ask her in five years. She is the new mom of a daughter, Evelyn, born a couple of weeks ago. She says people keep asking her what it's like to raise a girl -- and she says that's "kind of hard to say now." The dad is Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- The manager of a private New Mexico ranch says movie productions again have the green light to film on the site. Diamond Tail Ranch manager Roch Hart says he's happy a 20th Century Fox investigation found that the cast of "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" didn't swipe any of the artifacts scattered around the property. The movie's star suggested in a TV interview that actors took items they weren't supposed to, despite warnings to leave them be. But Fox says a probe into the claim turned up no evidence that really happened.
KELLY RIPA GETS STAR ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kelly Ripa says the secret of her success so far is a simple one: "surround yourself with people who are better than you." She says it has helped her while starring on "All My Children" and hosting with her former "Live" co-host Regis Philbin. Ripa got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel teased that the diminutive Ripa is "the only star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame who is the same size" as her star on the sidewalk.

"THE VOICE"-BATTLES BEGIN
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The steal is on -- and we aren't talking postseason baseball. "The Voice" began the battle rounds last night. That's when team members go head-to-head, with their coach deciding who to keep. The hopeful who's cut can be stolen by a rival team. Team Gwen, Team Adam and Team Pharrell all picked up steals on last night's show. Dustin Christensen was wanted by both Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani after being dropped by Team Blake. Levine told Dustin they would make beautiful music together. Stefani said she was thinking about what duet she would do with Dustin. In the end, Dustin decided to go with Team Adam.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Raven-Symone is the latest panelist on "The View" to walk back her words. The ex-Cosby Show star now says it was in "poor taste" to say, as she did last week, that she wouldn't hire someone with an ethnic-sounding name. She was part of a discussion about a study on people who make racial assumptions based on names. She says if she were looking for an employee, she wouldn't hire someone named "Watermeloandrea." Raven-Symone says she wasn't targeting a specific race; she had just heard the name it in a popular online video. Last month, Joy Behar apologized twice -- after irking people with comments about nurses and people with Alzheimer's. Over the summer, Whoopi Goldberg drew fire for her support for fellow comedian Bill Cosby.
CONAN O'BRIEN - ARMENIA
NEW YORK (AP) -- Conan's going to Armenia. Late night comedian Conan O'Brien is going to be the first American talk show host to do a show from Armenia. He will be joined by his longtime assistant Sona Movsesian, who is of Armenian descent. O'Brien says he'll make sure his next assistant is someone who was "born in five-star resort in Tuscany." The show from Armenia will air Nov. 10.
"DANCING WITH THE STARS"-THE FIRST PERFECT NIGHT
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A former "Spy Kid" is perfect -- on "Dancing With the Stars." Alexa PenaVega gets the first round of perfect scores of the season. Her husband, Carlos PenaVega, was just a point behind. Last night's show featured the "switch-up," with the celebs dancing with new partners chosen by the viewers. The celebs get a break this week; everyone is safe. So this week's judges' scores will factor into next week's elimination. Paula Deen needs to be concerned. She trails the pack, even though her jive was praised by the judges as her best performance yet.
