Lord of the Dance Returning to Chattanooga in 2013

Lord of the Dance created by Michael Flatley returns to Chattanooga’s Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium for one performance only on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.

Tickets go on sale at 10:00am EST on Friday, November 16 online at www.ChattanoogaOnStage.com, at Memorial Auditorium box office, and by phone at (423) 642-TIXS.

Lord of the Dance created by Michael Flatley (LOTD) is the theatrical extravaganza that has helped catapult Irish dancing into the global spotlight. The show features more than 40 dancers who deliver an eloquent and stunning interpretation of one of Ireland’s most famous legends.

Described by the New York Post as "fascinating, rewarding and above all, entertaining," and by the Los Angeles Times as "a showpiece extravaganza," Lord of the Dance is a mesmerizing blend of traditional and modern Celtic music and dance. The story is a classic tale of good vs. evil based on old Irish folklore. It is also a passionate love story expressed through dance. The action is played out over 21 scenes on a grand scale of precision dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes and state-of-the-art staging and lighting.

LOTD was conceived and choreographed by Creator and Artistic Director Michael Flatley—the American-born world Irish dance champion who originated the role of the Lord and was responsible for creating a new wave of Celtic dance mania. Flatley, who added fresh costumes, a visually stimulating set featuring an LED wall and revised lighting and set designs this year, still oversees all aspects of the production and the numerous LOTD troupes touring internationally.

The show made its debut performance in 1996 and quickly became the most popular touring dance production in history. More than 60 million people worldwide have seen Lord of the Dance in person at sold-out theaters, arenas and stadiums.

LOTD will perform for one night only at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium. All seats are reserved from $27.50 to $47.50 plus convenience fees. Tickets go on sale at 10:00 am EST on Friday, November 16 at Memorial Auditorium box office, online at www.ChattanoogaOnStage.com, and by phone at (423) 642-TIXS.Lord of the Dance Returning to Chattanooga in 2013

"SONS OF ANARCHY" GUEST STARS FOR FINAL SEASON

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- Malcolm-Jamal Warner won't be anything like a Cosby kid in his next role. He'll be one of the guest stars on the FX biker drama "Sons of Anarchy." Show creator Kurt Sutter tells TV critics he's also casting musicians Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson. Love will play a teacher. Sutter says they like to have some fun with their casting choices. Sons of Anarchy returns for its seventh and final season in the fall.

When "Sons of Anarchy" returns in the fall, we'll see some unusual casting. The AP's Jamie Friar reports on the guest stars to be featured in the FX motorcycle drama.

PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN'S WILL

NEW YORK (AP) -- Philip Seymour Hoffman had said he didn't want his children to be "trust fund kids." And his accountant says that's why the actor turned aside the suggestion that he set up a trust fund for his three children. The New York Post says a court-appointed lawyer for the children interviewed the accountant for the actor, who died earlier this year of a drug overdose. The accountant says Hoffman wanted his fortune, estimated at $35 million, to go to his longtime partner and the children's mom, Mimi O'Donnell.

"TYRANT" PRODUCTION MOVED FROM TEL AVIV

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- The current unrest in the Middle East has caused production of the FX's series "Tyrant" to pull up stakes. The show had been shot in Tel Aviv. But producer Howard Gordon says the show has since moved to Istanbul to resume production. Gordon tells a TV critics panel in California that when Tel Aviv began drawing missile fire, "people were running into bomb shelters." And he says while people on the set didn't feel "physically threatened," the atmosphere "was not conducive to shooting." The last two episodes of the show's first season will be shot in Turkey.

FORMER "50 SHADES" ACTOR AWAITS RESULTS

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- The actor who had the original lead for the movie version of "Fifty Shades of Grey" says he still believes in the film, even though he won't be in it. Charlie Hunnam says he's "really excited" to see the movie and is "really, really curious" to see how it turned out. Hunnam dropped out of the "Grey" project a month after he landed the role. He says he believes his replacement, Jamie Dornan, is "probably a lot better looking and a lot smoother" than he is. Though Hunnam says he wouldn't mind having his audition tape be part of a DVD extra for fans of the movie. The movie is due out next Valentine's Day.
