Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour
The Quit Your Day Job Tour is coming to Chattanooga on Tuesday November 27th, 2012 at JJ’s Bohemia. See the rest of the shows details at the bottom of this release.
Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour:
We all have wanted to do it. Dealing with incompetent management and lazy co-workers every day for years can drive one to the breaking point. For these three comedians, that is exactly what happened. One by one they told their jobs to suck it so they could live a life on the road telling jokes to strangers. Now they have come together to hit the road to spread their stories of freedom and sleeping until noon on the Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour. It’s more than a comedy show, it’s a living, breathing example of how you don’t have to suffer the rest of your life behind a desk or on a sales floor. Quit your day job and come out to a show. But before you do, put some visine in a fresh pot of coffee in the break room.
Grady Ray- The Manchild
Grady Ray is a self described bi-racial bowl of love sauce and a former police officer in the Smoky Mountain town of Newport, Tennessee. His deep well of experiences coupled with his creative wit melts the crowd like rain drops... White chocolate rain drops. Grady Ray was raised in Cocke County, Tennessee, a part of the country known for moonshining, weed farming, chop shops, brothels and cock fighting. His influences include Richard Pryor, Mitch Hedberg and Tommy Chong. Grady has performed regularly at Side Splitters Comedy Club in Knoxville and recently toured the Midwest with the Crackers of Comedy Tour. When not on the road doing comedy you can find Grady reading comic books, watching Star Wars or playing XBox in true manchild fashion.
Matt Ward- The Stoner
Matt Ward doesn’t set out to offend, but he routinely stumbles into territory his devoted fans fearlessly go with him. He is an everyman and a nobody simultaneously. Getting his start at a hippie music festival in Ohio, Ward knows a bit about herbal inebriation. Matt has shared the stage with Doug Stanhope, Seaton Smith and Kyle Kinane. His Debut CD ‘Glamorous’ can be heard on his Pandora Comedy Channel or purchased through Itunes or Amazon. Ward is the co-host of the Sushi Douche Podcast and also has performed at the Laughing Skull and Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festivals.
J.C. Ratliff- The Drunk
Born into the ultra-conservative Southwest Virginia hills, J.C. Ratliff is wonderfully broken. A product of an Irish Protestant family that also produced a preacher and a police officer, J.C. chose the path of least appreciation in stand-up comedy. Channeling the energy and expelling the vitriol of Carlin and Hicks and the alcohol-fueled epithets of Doug Stanhope, J.C. Ratliff never loses your attention. He is the co-host of the Bone’s Lair Podcast, downloaded more than 200,000 times in 99 countries. His goals include getting free drinks when he performs and becoming the top bar comic in the world, or at least East Tennessee.

OSCAR WINNERS LUPITA NYONG'O AND JARED LETO AN ITEM?
PARIS (AP) -- So, do Lupita Nyong'o and Jared Leto share something other than just winning Oscars this past Sunday. Could be. They both showed up in Paris -- together -- for a fashion show by Italian designer Prada. The two have been coy about the nature of their relationship. They haven't confirmed they are an item -- but haven't denied it, either. This past Saturday, Leto thanked "my future ex-wife Lupita" during a speech at the Independent Spirit Awards. Lupita has laughed off questions about her personal life -- but no denials.
MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN PREMIERES IN LOS ANGELES
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Allison Janney says she remembers watching Mr. Peabody and Sherman on TV as a kid. And she says the thing that struck her at the time was that a dog was the one who adopted the kid -- instead of the other way around. She says as a dog lover herself, that intrigues her to this day. She's one of the voices in the animated film, which had its premiere in Los Angeles last night. Janney was joined by fellow cast members Ty Burrell and Ariel Winter.
Ty Burrell says his "Modern Family" bounce landed him the gig in "Mr. Peabody and Sherman."

"AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGES GIVE MIXED REVIEWS
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It was a mixed bag of singing during "American Idol" last night. The judges were so torn on Jessica Meuse (MYOOS) doing Dido's "White Flag" that they were still debating it coming back from commercial. Harry Connick Junior wanted Jena (JEE'-nah) Irene to bust out more with "Suddenly I See," and Keith Urban told Alex Preston he kept thinking the word "instability" during his performance. Jennifer Lopez thought Emily Piriz was brave for tackling a JLo song, although Connick thought it was too big a production for her. Lopez liked Malaya Watson's gospel song "Take Me To The King," saying it gave her "goosies" from head to toe and tears in her eyes.

KRISTIN CHENOWETH'S ASTHMA
NEW YORK (AP) -- If you heard her sing on Broadway, you'd probably never guess that Kristin Chenoweth suffers from asthma. But the actress is trying to let people know about her condition -- now that she's a spokeswoman for a product designed to treat the disease. She says she used to get sick all the time and had trouble catching her breath -- but it was years before doctors were able to pin down the diagnosis as asthma. She needs to carry an inhaler all the time. And she's the spokeswoman for a brand of inhaler that keeps count on how many doses she has left.

IDINA MENZEL VEXED ABOUT FAME
NEW YORK (AP) -- Fame can be a funny thing -- just ask Tony-winning Idina Menzel. She is getting all kinds of attention these days because of the success of her hit "Let It Go" from the animated film "Frozen." But she finds it strange that the song is getting love on the pop charts -- when she is best known for belting out show tunes as a Broadway actress. She says she's been trying to convince people she has the chops to be a rock or pop singer -- but the one time she ends up getting a big hit, it's from a Disney movie song. Menzel puts it another way: "I'm singing at the Oscars -- I've never sang at the Grammys." She didn't just sing at the Oscars; "Let It Go" won the Academy Award for best original song for a movie.
GAME SHOW HOST GEOFF EDWARDS DIES
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- For the second straight week, we have lost a TV game show host who was popular during the 1970s. The latest to pass away is Geoff Edwards -- who used to preside over the shows, "Jackpot!" and "Treasure Hunt." Edwards was cut from a slightly different bolt of cloth than the usual game show host of that time. He often ditched the suit and tie, often wore jeans -- and had longer hair than more straight-laced hosts back in the day like Bill Cullen, Wink Martindale, Jim Lange and Bob Eubanks. His agent says Edwards died of complications of pneumonia in Santa Monica, California. He was 83. Funeral plans are pending.
