Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour
The Quit Your Day Job Tour is coming to Chattanooga on Tuesday November 27th, 2012 at JJ’s Bohemia. See the rest of the shows details at the bottom of this release.
Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour:
We all have wanted to do it. Dealing with incompetent management and lazy co-workers every day for years can drive one to the breaking point. For these three comedians, that is exactly what happened. One by one they told their jobs to suck it so they could live a life on the road telling jokes to strangers. Now they have come together to hit the road to spread their stories of freedom and sleeping until noon on the Quit Your Day Job Comedy Tour. It’s more than a comedy show, it’s a living, breathing example of how you don’t have to suffer the rest of your life behind a desk or on a sales floor. Quit your day job and come out to a show. But before you do, put some visine in a fresh pot of coffee in the break room.
Grady Ray- The Manchild
Grady Ray is a self described bi-racial bowl of love sauce and a former police officer in the Smoky Mountain town of Newport, Tennessee. His deep well of experiences coupled with his creative wit melts the crowd like rain drops... White chocolate rain drops. Grady Ray was raised in Cocke County, Tennessee, a part of the country known for moonshining, weed farming, chop shops, brothels and cock fighting. His influences include Richard Pryor, Mitch Hedberg and Tommy Chong. Grady has performed regularly at Side Splitters Comedy Club in Knoxville and recently toured the Midwest with the Crackers of Comedy Tour. When not on the road doing comedy you can find Grady reading comic books, watching Star Wars or playing XBox in true manchild fashion.
Matt Ward- The Stoner
Matt Ward doesn’t set out to offend, but he routinely stumbles into territory his devoted fans fearlessly go with him. He is an everyman and a nobody simultaneously. Getting his start at a hippie music festival in Ohio, Ward knows a bit about herbal inebriation. Matt has shared the stage with Doug Stanhope, Seaton Smith and Kyle Kinane. His Debut CD ‘Glamorous’ can be heard on his Pandora Comedy Channel or purchased through Itunes or Amazon. Ward is the co-host of the Sushi Douche Podcast and also has performed at the Laughing Skull and Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festivals.
J.C. Ratliff- The Drunk
Born into the ultra-conservative Southwest Virginia hills, J.C. Ratliff is wonderfully broken. A product of an Irish Protestant family that also produced a preacher and a police officer, J.C. chose the path of least appreciation in stand-up comedy. Channeling the energy and expelling the vitriol of Carlin and Hicks and the alcohol-fueled epithets of Doug Stanhope, J.C. Ratliff never loses your attention. He is the co-host of the Bone’s Lair Podcast, downloaded more than 200,000 times in 99 countries. His goals include getting free drinks when he performs and becoming the top bar comic in the world, or at least East Tennessee.

JOAN RIVERS SUFFERS CARDIAC ARREST
NEW YORK (AP) -- On Wednesday, Joan Rivers seemed the picture of health -- as she attended an event for Time Incorporated employees in New York. But less than 12 hours later, her life appeared to be hanging in the balance. The veteran comedian is in a New York City hospital after being rushed from a doctor's office. Her heart stopped. No one is saying officially what her condition is -- and it's unclear what her prospects of recovery are because it's unknown how long her body was deprived of oxygen. Rivers is 81. In a statement, Melissa Rivers says her mother was "resting comfortably" with family. But the statement didn't give any details about her mother's condition. Melissa Rivers' statement adds the family offers thanks for the "overwhelming love and support" for her mother. Joan Rivers has spent a half-century in show business. Though recently she has become known for her snarky comments about celebrities on the red carpet, at one time, she was considered the top female standup comic of her time.
Joan Rivers suffered a heart attack yesterday. The AP's Jamie Friar reports she's now in a New York hospital.
BRAD PITT, ANGELINA JOLIE MARRY
NEW YORK (AP) -- First came love, then the baby carriages. And now, it's finally marriage for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The couple named "Brangelina" by members of the Hollywood news media has tied the knot. There had been talk for two years that Pitt would finally "put a ring on it" -- but when or where would it happen? We now know it was Saturday in Southern France -- but until The Associated Press nailed it down yesterday, there'd been no word on the celebrity nuptials. The AP source says Jolie and Pitt exchanged vows in a small chapel at the Chateau Miraval in the hamlet of Correns. The couple had lived at the home since 2008. Pitt and Jolie have been together nearly a decade-- and have six children. All the children took part in the wedding.
AP Entertainment Editor Oscar Wells Gabriel reports the wedding was a long time coming.

KEEPING SECRET MARRIAGES SECRET
NEW YORK (AP) -- The butler didn't do it. For that matter, neither did the baker, the florist, the caterer -- or anyone else involved in the wedding of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The big story yesterday wasn't that they had gotten married over the weekend -- it was that they had managed to get married without word of the wedding leaking out. How'd they do it? One big-time party organizer says a growing number of celebrities are doing everything they can to keep details about the weddings from being leaked. And Pitt and Jolie were able to pull that off. David Tutera says one big help in keeping plans under wraps: confidentiality agreements for vendors. Such legal documents bind vendors to pay fines if they blab about what they are doing.
PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN FRIEND STRIKES PLEA DEAL
NEW YORK (AP) -- A friend of Philip Seymour Hoffman won't end up doing time in a drug case. Robert Vineberg has struck a plea deal with authorities in New York City after being busted after the actor OD'd on heroin in February. Vineberg was arrested as police chased leads in Hoffman's case -- but he wasn't charged with having a role in the actor's death. Vineberg's guilty plea to heroin possession means he has to serve five years' probation. He could have faced a more serious drug charge that could have resulted in his doing jail time -- and being deported to his native Canada.
SHAKIRA TO BE MOM AGAIN
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shakira, Shakira. Baby, baby. The singer and coach on "The Voice" is now expecting her second child. She made the announcement on her Facebook and Twitter pages yesterday. And her rep confirms the accounts are real. No additional details about the pregnancy were revealed online. Shakira and soccer player Gerard Pique had their first child last year. Shakira is 37 -- and her beau is 10 years younger.
UTAH MAY APPEAL "SISTER WIVES" CASE
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah's governor says the state should keep fighting a court ruling that makes it appear legal to marry more than one wife. Gary Herbert says state laws should be defended in court until all appeals have run out. A court has struck down key parts of a law that criminalizes polygamy. The ruling comes down in favor of the family that stars in the reality TV show "Sister Wives."
