Visit with Jeff Corwin at the Chattanooga Zoo's Banana Ball
Chattanooga’s wildest party is back! The Chattanooga Zoo will host its annual Banana Ball on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 6:30-11:00 p.m. at the Zoo’s location at 301 N. Holtzclaw Ave. Guests will experience a special evening at the Zoo, while enjoying a presentation by Jeff Corwin, up-close animal encounters, heavy hors d’oeuvres, dancing and an open bar. All for the special low price of only $75! A cigar bar providing signature hand rolled cigars by Burns Tobacconist will also be made available to attendees.
This year will also feature the Banana Split event especially for children. Children ages 3 to 12 can come and meet Jeff Corwin and hear stories from his many exciting adventures around the world. This event will take place from 3 to 4 pm at the Zoo on Saturday, October 12th. Banana Split sundaes are included. Tickets are $25 per child and one parent per child receives complimentary admission.
For those interested in getting to spend quality time with Jeff, a special VIP Backstage Pass is available for purchase for $150. Pass includes admission to Banana Ball as well as private VIP reception beginning at 5:30 pm
Banana Ball is the Chattanooga Zoo’s signature fundraising event with all proceeds going to the care of the Zoo’s many wonderful animals, as well as its conservation, education and rehabilitation efforts.
"Banana Ball is our most anticipated fundraising event of the year,” Darde Long, Executive Director of the Zoo said. “We hope everyone will come out and enjoy a magical evening at the Zoo to benefit a great cause.”

"AMERICAN IDOL" - CJ HARRIS OUT
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- There were tears on last night "American Idol." But CJ Harris puts it all in perspective, even though he's the contestant voted off. CJ says he's made some great friends -- and they'll all be together again soon as part of the Idol Live tour. Ryan Seacrest says CJ is "a class act" because he thanked the band for their hard work. Jessica Meuse (MYOOS) was also in the bottom two this week. But she makes it into the top five, as Idol heads into the final weeks of the season.

"WALKING WITH THE ENEMY" - JONAS ARMSTRONG
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Jonas Armstrong felt creepy putting on a Nazi uniform for the first time. Armstrong stars in a movie inspired by Pinchas (PIN'-kuhs) Rosenbaum, a Jew who posed as a Nazi officer in order to save hundreds of Jews in Hungary. Armstrong says it was "chilling" the first time he saw himself in the mirror. He says the uniform made him stand in a "rigid and upright" way. "Walking With the Enemy" opens today.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Ginnier Goodwin and Josh Dallas aren't agreeing on names for their unborn baby. Goodwin told Jimmy Kimmel you can't give the kid a name that begins with a "D" because it would sound like a porn star. And she says "nothing geographical because it sounds like an airport." Not so fast, says Dallas. He says if it's a boy or a girl he likes the name Austin. Austin Dallas. Goodwin says they can't do that because it's "an actual place where planes land."
