Erlanger at Hutcheson Names Chief Medical Officer

Erlanger at Hutcheson officials announce the appointment of Chris Moore, MD as Chief Medical Officer of the North Georgia facility.

Dr. Moore will assist with physician recruitment and serve as the medical staff liaison for quality oversight and patient-centered committees within the organization.

“Dr. Moore has an outstanding reputation in the community” said President and CEO Roger Forgey. “His ability to bring leadership and oversight to our physician efforts will be an asset in expanding medical services and quality of care.”

Dr. Moore received an undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Virginia, and continued his medical training with an internship and residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  He maintained a private practice until the mid-1990s, when he joined Hutcheson Medical Center as an emergency room physician.  He later moved into the area of sports/wilderness medicine and was the founder of Outdoor Chattanooga.  Dr. Moore currently serves as the director of the annual Southeast Wilderness Medicine Conference in Chattanooga.

As a community supporter, Dr. Moore serves as a trustee of the Tennessee Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, commissioner of the Tennessee State Conservation Board, and also an advisor of the Land Trust for Tennessee.  He resides in the North Georgia community with his wife. They have four grown children.
