Wine and Pearls 2013 Raises Nearly $42,000 for Cancer Support
Thanks to generous patrons, the 4th annual Wine and Pearls event hosted by Parkridge Medical Center on April 19 raised nearly $42,000 to benefit PearlPoint Cancer Support’s mission to help create a more confident cancer journey for adults anytime, anywhere.
Over 250 attendees bid on a variety of unique and desirable items at the event’s silent auction, which included a Country Music Awards package, concert tickets, pampering sessions, dining experiences and so much more. The evening at the Hunter Museum of American Art included Parkridge Medical Center and Chambliss Bahner & Stophel as Gold sponsors. Avalon Hospice, Brewer Media and Chattanooga Times Free Press were Silver level sponsors of the event.
Proceeds from Wine & Pearls will enable PearlPoint Cancer Support to continue providing supportive services, free of charge, to cancer patients in the Chattanooga area and beyond. Services offered by PearlPoint include: My PearlPoint, a one-stop online resource for easy-to-understand, reliable information regarding a cancer diagnosis and treatment, side effects management and nutrition consultations with registered dietitians, an easy to use online clinical trial locator, and access to Cancer Supportive Services professionals who help connect patients with new and unknown resources. PearlPoint’s services are available to patients, caregivers, friends, family members, co-workers - any adult whose life has been changed because of cancer.
