Fire Strikes Dallas Bay Home
Comments 0 | Recommend 0There was $70,000 in damage to a home in the Dallas Bay area of Hamilton County this morning.
Murcus Rutherford left for work about 8:30. Around 9 am a neighbor saw smoke and flames coming from his home at 7738 Gann Road.
The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department found the back of the house engulfed in flames when they arrived and called in Red Bank and Soddy Daisy Fire Departments to help.
The fire was responded to assist Dallas Bay VFD. Fire fighters were able to contain the fire to the back bedroom and other rooms received significant smoke and water damage.
Rutherford said his home is insured and he will be staying with family members.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
