No One Hurt in Midland Pike Fire

The Chattanooga Fire Department rushed to a house fire at 4007 Midland Pike shortly after 2:00 p.m. Monday.

Battalion Chief Mike Knox said only light smoke was visible when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.  The firefighters forced their way inside and found no one in the house, but they did find a fire in the basement.

Chief Knox described it as a small fire in the laundry room.  The fire was quickly extinguished, with the dollar loss estimated at $70,000.  No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
