Update: Five Hurt in Grinding Crash
There's new information about a horrible crash Thursday afternoon in Dalton.
It was a head-on collision between a Jeep Cherokee and a 1996 Conventional Truck on VD Parrott Pkwy in Dalton just after 1:10 pm. Officer Bruce Frazier with the Dalton Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit says names and more information have been released. Frazier says the two drivers are 28-year-old Andrew West from Lansing, TN, and 36-year-old Phillip Young from Oakman, Georgia. Officer Frazier says West was driving the jeep and crossed the center line crashing head-on into the truck that Young was driving.
West was transported to Hamilton Medical Center with possible internal injuries. Three passengers in the Jeep were also transported to Hamilton Medical Center. The front seat passenger, 20-year-old Elizabeth Brock of Dalton was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Thirty year-old Anthony Hill of Rock Spring and also in the backseat was taken to the hospital with possible internal injuries. A 1 year old male, was also in the back seat in a Child Care seat. He was taken to the hospital, treated and released.
No word on any charges.
