Former Banker Sentenced
Jimmy Goddard, 65,the former president of what was Benton Banking Company in Polk County has been sentenced for misappropriating bank funds. Goddard pleaded guilty to defrauding the company out of millions of dollars, accused of using the money for personal travel, home improvements and fraudulent loans.
He was sentenced to serve six years and six months in a federal prison for Theft, Embezzlement and Misappropriation of Funds by a Bank Officer.
After he serves that time, he will be on five years supervised probation which includes mental health and substance abuse treatment.
He was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,185,328.
