Woman Accused in N. Ga. Couple's Death Dies
A woman accused of helping her son dispose of the bodies of a teenage couple from North Georgia has died.
Washington County assistant prosecutor Dennis Brooks said Wednesday he received confirmation that Emma Elizabeth Hawk died in Oklahoma City.
Hawk - who was 78 - was charged with two counts of abuse of a corpse, being an accessory after the fact of first-degree murder and soliciting another to destroy evidence.
Hawk's son, Howard Hawk Willis, faces murder charges in the 2002 deaths of Adam and Samantha Chrismer, who were newlyweds from Chickamauga, Ga.
The Johnson City Press reported Brooks said he would petition the court to end the charges against Emma Hawk.
The murder case against Willis is still pending.
