A company manager confirms that J.M. Huber Products in Spring City, Tenn. has laid off 54 people. The plant is known as Huber Engineered Woods' Whites Creek mill. It opened in 1997. The mill manufactures specialty building products such as AdvanTech® flooring, sheathing and rim board; Webstock for I-beams; and PerformMAX^TM paper overlay products.

The company laid off 66 employees last April. A spokesperson says only 26 employees remain to run the plant.
