Two LaFayette Natives Recovering from Shooting

Two LaFayette natives are recovering after being shot after one of their concerts in Savannah, Georgia.

The suspects in the shootings , 18-year-old Ashamir Johnson and Desmond Hunter were in a Savannah courtroom today.

The Savannah Police department says the two men are both facing two counts of aggravated battery and one count of armed robbery.

Dave Williams and Jason Statts, both graduates of LaFayette High School, are recovering from gunshot wounds to the neck.
Jason is in the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta. The two men and another who was not hurt in the incident make up the band, Sürt.

A benefit concert is being planned for next month by friends in LaFayette to help cover medical costs. Jars will also be placed around town to help raise money.
