An undercover drug officer makes a small methamphetamine arrest in Dade County and you won't believe how easy it was. Sheriff Patrick Cannon got a tip about meth sales on top of Sand Mountain.
Sheriff Cannon says he relayed the information to an undercover member of the Lookout Mountain Task Force. That officer went near 51 year old William Hicks home and the Sheriff says Hicks actually approached him.
Then the drug deal happened. Hicks was arrested without a shirt. "He stated that he had been up for several days jma: And he actually tried to get some drugs after the buy? Sheriff Cannon: After the buy, he stated to the agent that he wanted to smoke with him before he goes," Sheriff Cannon said.
The sheriff added Hicks just got out of prison three months ago on methamphetamine charges. The Drug Task Force has eight undercover agents from Catoosa, Dade, Walker and Chattooga Counties.
They rotate them to keep their identities secret. The agent in this buy was not from Dade.
