Charlie Company Home From Afghanistan
90 north Georgia families are catching up with their "citizen soldiers" by telling stories about what's been going on the last 14-months while they've been fighting in Afghanistan.
"Charlie Company," the more common name for C-Troop of the Georgia Army National Guard's 108th Calvary unit, came home Tuesday to a hometown hero's welcome.
We rode with the soldiers on their bus as they greeting hundreds of people who lined the streets to welcome them home. The troops waved and shouted back at people carrying flags and signs along Dalton's streets.
"Charlie Company" completed 1,000 missions in Afghanistan during their deployment and played a key role in maintaining security.
Now they're home again and ready return to a civilian life.
Amanda Henslee, wife of Specialist Nathan Henslee, said "and so it's crazy to think he's gonna be home for good now and I'm really excited."
"It's unexplainable, awesome, I can't believe I'm here it's like a dream, it's really cool," Spc. Henslee said.
"Charlie Company" left 14-months ago with 90 soldiers and they returned today with 90 soldiers - but six were hurt during operations in the middle East.
