Movie Stars, Trains and Farm Houses
Comments 0As shooting for the final scenes for the upcoming movie "Water for Elephants" is wrapping up in the Tennessee Valley, all eyes are now on the picturesque cove in southern Walker County.
An old farm house on the Cross family property is being used as a set for the 1930's era story taken from the Sara Gruen book. The film features stars Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson.
All day Thursday people were hearing about the location and were stopping along West Cove Road to snap pictures and get a glimpse of the production crews getting the sets ready.
Earlier in the day crews and stars took to the rails aboard an old steam-engine train to shoot sequences along a remote area of tracks operated by the Tennessee Valley Railroad Authority.
"Oh, it's extremely exciting, very exciting that Chickamauga has some very big names out here, it's a beautiful area, we love it out here," neighbor Shannon Pickard said.
The buzz is that filming with Witherspoon and Pattinson will begin at the house about 4:00 - 5:00 a.m. Friday. But you won't be able to star watch - security will be tight and West Cove Road will be blocked going into and out of the shoot location.
