$1,000 Reward for Preston Muncy
Chattanooga man on TBI Top 10 Most Wanted List
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added a Chattanooga man to its Top 10 Most Wanted list Monday. Preston Deshawun Muncy, 36, is accused of trying to steal a disability check from and assaulting a disabled man earlier this year. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Muncy's last known address was 708 Davis Avenue, Chattanooga. He is wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Soddy Daisy Police Department for Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault.
According to the TBI, on August 3, 2009, Muncy and his girlfriend targeted her estranged husband to steal his disability check. The victim was disabled but able to live on his own when Muncy assaulted him and left him in a vehicle overnight for a neighbor to find the next day. The victim now needs hospice care.
Muncy has a criminal history that spans Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Georgia for theft, DUI and contempt of court.
Muncy is described as a while male with brown hair and blue eyes. He’s approximately 6’2” and weighs 180 lbs. He has a tattoo on his left hand and is considered dangerous.
