Former Hamilton County Teacher Faces More Child Sex Charges

40-year-old Ronald Boykin was arrested in Nashville after a traffic stop turned up warrants for two counts of rape, one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and one count of attempted sexual battery from a 2006 arrest in Chattanooga.
Since then, he's been charged with three more counts of sexual battery and two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure for incidents at a school he's been teaching at in Nashville for the past two years.
That brings a total of nine charges against Boykin.
How did he even get hired? Police say he 'slipped through the cracks' of the background-checking system, as the TBI says background checks for school districts do not include warrants.
