One Dead in Crash; Two Flee Scene
Dalton Police are investigating a fatal car crash that killed one man.
The wreck occurred around 11 p.m. on Hamilton Connecter, in front of the Office Depot
Officials tell us 24 year-old Rene Olvera Resendiz, one of the passengers in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the Ford Explorer left the roadway and struck a tree.
Resendiz was thrown from the SUV and the vehicle rolled on top of him.
Officials say although the investigation is still ongoing, speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the cause of the crash.
Police say two of the passengers fled on foot.
The only information available about the two fleeing subjects is they were Hispanic.
The Dalton Police Department's Traffic Unit is asking for help in trying to identify the two individuals that fled the scene.
